Parvin-Clauss Sign Company, a fast growing, family-owned business based in Carol Stream, Illinois, is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and detail oriented individual to manage our installation team.  Our installation team provides sign installation and repair services in the Chicagoland area.  Ideal candidates for this position will possess a solid work ethic.

Position Summary: The Sign Installation Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of custom sign installations, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in installation, project management, safety compliance and team coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to meet customer needs and execute installations efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead, train, and motivate installation crews to achieve high performance standards.
  • Supervise and manage the daily activities of the installation team, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct weekly L10 meetings with installation department.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Project Management:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute custom sign installations according to project specifications and timelines.
  • Conduct thorough site surveys to identify potential challenges and ensure all requirements are met before installation.
  • Implement and uphold rigorous quality control standards throughout the installation process.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Collaborate with production, design/permitting, and sales teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Communicate installation requirements to installers and coordinate schedules with customers.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during installation, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Equipment and Inventory Management:
  • Manage inventory and equipment to ensure availability for scheduled installations, including fleet maintenance.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use.
  • Ensure that service trucks are stocked with necessary materials such as power supplies, LEDs, and other essential components.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Write and implement site specific safety plans (SSSP) to ensure all installations are conducted safely as required by contract.
  • Implement Vehicle Safety and Inspection plans.
  • Conduct weekly Toolbox talks with installation department
  • Oversee final government inspections, ensure sites are prepared and all requirements are met.
  • Stay current with local regulations and permitting processes related to sign installations.

Desired Skills

  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in electrical work, including wiring signs.
  • Understanding of various wall types and appropriate mounting methods.
  • Ability to operate and train on all types of installation equipment.
  • Experience in supervising and training concrete pours, including form preparation, pole setting, and rebar installation.
  • Competency in vinyl application and other relevant sign installation tasks.
  • Work Outside and be exposed to the weather.
  • Certifications and Training:
  • Identify necessary licenses and certifications for the team.
  • Develop and implement employee training programs.
  • Manage company investments in individual certifications, considering retention, cost, and company needs.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in custom installation, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of custom sign materials, installation techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead installation crews effectively.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and permitting processes related to sign installations.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated region as needed.
