When it came time for G&W Electric to discuss how to makes its new 371,000 square foot headquarters and manufacturing center in Bolingbrook, Illinois, more energy efficient, they contacted the ComEd and NiCor Gas New Construction Service. By working with the program early in design, this project received more that $300,000 in incentives for exceeding code requirements - that's over .80 cents per square foot.
The New Construction Service has also supported the design team and provided energy analysis and technical assistance at no cost. The project is pending LEED Gold certification and G&W is expected to save more than $237,000 in annual utility costs.
