The Village of Diamond, Illinois, located Southwest of Joliet, now has an eye-catching monument sign. The sign is comprised of Foamcraft, a lightweight synthetic material with a hard coat finish which makes the sign impervious to rot, termites, and moisture. The piers are the same synthetic material that looks like real stone and withstands fading and peeling.

Diamond, Illinois, is only 1.6 miles border to border, with a population of under 1400 people, but it is known for a mining disaster that happened on February 16, 1883, when the Diamond mine flooded, killing 72 miners.
